Io sono uno degli uomini peggiori di questa nazione, ma posso fare qualcosa che al mondo non esiste ancora, qualcosa di fantastico e completamente inutile.
Galileo provò che la terra si muove e il papa era il suo boss.
Galileo era un architetto e costruì una torre e poi la torre s’inclinò.
E allora anch’io costruisco una torre ed è diversa da quella di Galileo.
Sono uno degli uomini peggiori d’America, ma costruisco qualcosa che al mondo non esiste ancora

I am one of the worst man of this nation, but I can do something that doesn’t exist in the world yet, something fantastic and totally useless.
Galileo proved that Earth moves and the Pope was his boss.
Galileo was an architect and he built a tower and the tower leaned.
So I build a tower too and it is different from the tower of Galileo.
I am one of the worst men of America, but I build something that doesn’t exist yet in the world.
For thirty years in every spare hour after the job with pieces of glass green or blue, with wire and cement, with steel, shards and sweat, with my hands and nothing else I build the tower that people like and I call it “our village”.
Somebody thinks I’m crazy, somebody understands that I’m doing something that didn’t exist before.
Our village, the tower that people like.
I am Sabato Simon Rodia and here in Los Angeles, in these neighborhood of poor fellows I build the tower that people like and everybody comes to see it.
